Candy Corn Pumpkin Pattern!
Fall is my absolute favorite season! The crisp air, colorful leaves, and pumpkin-themed food everywhere makes my heart sing... not to mention CANDY CORN! So, I figured what's better than a candy corn themed pumpkin?
This is an easy project, perfect for beginners or advanced crocheters, and works up quickly since it uses super bulky yarn!
- Pumpkin (Color B)
Gauge: After Round 6, your pumpkin should measure about 6" across in diameter.
Pattern:
Start with Color A (white)
Begin with a MC, ch 1. Leave it loose enough to fit the cinnamon stick. Don't secure the yarn tail just yet.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MC (6)
Rnd 2: inc around (12)
Rnd 3: *inc, sc in next st* repeat around (18)
Rnd 4: *inc, sc in next 2 sts* repeat around (24)
Rnd 5: *inc, sc in next 3 sts* repeat around (30)
Rnd 6: *inc, sc in next 4 sts* repeat around (36)
Switch to Color B (orange)
Rnd 7: *inc, sc in next 5 sts* repeat around (42)
Rnd 8-10: sc around (42)
Switch to Color C (yellow)
Rnd 11-12: sc around (42)
Rnd 13: *dec, sc in next 5 sts* repeat around (36)
Rnd 14: *dec, sc in next 4 sts* repeat around (30)
Rnd 15: *dec, sc in next 3 sts* repeat around (24)
Insert the cinnamon stick stem then, using your needle, secure the MC yarn tail around the inside.
Rnd 16: *dec, sc in next 2 sts* repeat around (18)
Begin stuffing the pumpkin!
Switch to Color A (white)
Rnd 17: *dec, sc in next st* repeat around (12)
Rnd 18: dec around (6)
Using your needle, weave in and out the front loops only to close the hole. DO NOT CUT. Keep the tail long - about 3 wraps around the pumpkin.
Insert the needle through the top of the pumpkin, between the MC and Rnd 2. Then, push it down through the white center (Rnd 17/18). Do this 5 times total spaced evenly around the whole pumpkin. Then, finish off and secure the yarn end inside the pumpkin.
Embellish your pumpkin with leather tags or raffia to finish!
Ta-da! You're done! Easy, quick, and super cute!
Let me know if you make your own Candy Corn Pumpkin! I'd love to see it! (Tag: @WeeWarriorCrafts)
