Velvet Bow Crochet Pattern

Who loves velvet?  Its great for scrunchies, but I really love it for making little hair bows! They're so pretty, and perfect for dressing up fall and winter outfits for sweet little girls.

This pattern is easier than it looks, and quick too!

Materials Needed
Lion Brand Vel-luxe Yarn
5.5mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
"Alligator" hair clip
Hot Glue Gun (optional)

Pattern
Begin: Ch 7

Row 1:  Dc in 3rd ch from hook and the next 4 sts. Ch 2, turn.  (5)

Row 2 - 12:  Dc in each st across, ch 2, turn. (5)

Row 13:  Fold your rectangle over so the beginning side, and your current side, are touching. Put your hook between both sides, and sl st in each st across. You now have a tube. Cut your end, about 20 inches long. Pull through the loop to secure.

Position your tube so that the long end and sl st row is in the middle. Then, pinch the middle of your tube together.  Wrap your long end tight around the middle several times, over 1/2inch area, until it is secure and looks a little thicker.  Tie it tight with the other end from your first row and hide the ends using a yarn needle.

Slip your alligator clip under the wrapped ends. You can use some hot glue to secure it, or if you feel its secure enough leave it unglued.  (Usually the clips with "teeth" are pretty secure without glue!)

And you're done! Check out my printable cards HERE to display them nicely!
